The Livingston PostA 52-year-old Howell resident was killed in a single-car accident on Latson Road south of M-59 in Oceola Township at approximately 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31.
Preliminary investigation shows that a 1990 Chevrolet Lumina driven by Kelly Joan Estep was southbound on Latson Road when it crossed the center line and went off the roadway on the east, striking a tree. Estep was pronounced dead at the scene.
Latson Road was closed for approximately two hours during the investigation.
According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, and the driver was wearing a seatbelt. Deputies were assisted at the scene by personnel from the Howell Fire Department and Livingston County EMS.
This accident remains under investigation by the Livingston County Traffic Safety Bureau.
