Celebrating our country’s 250th anniversary kicks off June 14 — Flag Day — which also happens to be President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday.
A picture of the White House, with visible red white and blue arches among all the other changes there, is jolting. The arches are part of the stage built behind the White House on the south lawn for this Sunday’s UFC fight.
UFC fights are enjoyed by many Americans, and they have their place. However, the spectacle of two shirtless men beating each other up this Sunday night as part of our nation’s 250th Anniversary Celebration seems beyond belief. Lots of money is being made – the Presidents says it’s a “hot ticket.” So hot that only very rich people will be in attendance.
I personally don’t think a cage fight is an appropriate venue to take place giving the solemnity of the occasion of our nation’s birthday, particularly on the grounds of the people’s house.

The Trump administration is proof that Americans are at the mercy of ignorant fools. I can’t wait until Trump is gone and erased.
Your opinion is foolish. And you are unaware of how Biden Administration reigned in spending. Trump is driving the country into insolvency.
I think people should be a lot more upset about what happened to this country under the last administration. Personally, I’m not bothered one bit about the cage fight.
Completely agree with you! Thank you for sharing this. Cage fighting does not reflect what is noble and courageous and proud about our 250 history— frankly just the opposite. The beauty of the White House lawn and structure has already been desiccated with the removal of the east wing. This is just too much.
