Howell motorcyclist killed in two-vehicle crash

A 65-year-old Howell man was killed at approximately 3:45 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2021, in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hughes Road and Forest Ponds Drive in Genoa Township, between Grand River Avenue and Golf Club Road by Lake Chemung.

Deputies with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash. The preliminary investigation shows that the Howell man, driving a 2008 Harley Davidson, was northbound on Hughes Road when a 22-year-old Howell woman driving a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder turned left in front of him.

The motorcycle driver was ejected and died at the scene, while the woman in the Pathfinder was treated and released at the scene.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by personnel from the Michigan State Police Brighton Post, Brighton Area Fire Department and Livingston County EMS. The roadway was closed for approximately three hours during the investigation.

This incident remains under investigation by the Livingston County Major Crash Team.
