Driver uninjured after car fired upon on westbound I-96

At approximately 2:40 pm Thursday, Oct. 18, a vehicle traveling westbound on I-96 between D-19 and M-59 was struck by a projectile fired from an unknown location by an unknown type of firearm. The path of the projectile was from the southside of westbound I-96 toward the north.

The vehicle was struck in the rear driver’s side door. At the time of the incident, the vehicle was being driven by a 24-year-old Genesee County resident who was alone in the vehicle and uninjured.
