Two Howell residents hospitalized after Pinckney Road crash

On Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, at approximately 2:38 p.m., deputies from the Livingston County Sheriffs Office were dispatched to a two-vehicle serious injury crash on Pinckney Road (D-19), just south of Wright Road in Marion Township.

According to the preliminary investigation, a  22-year-old Howell resident driving a 2010 Ford Focus was heading north on Pinckney Road; the driver lost control while overtaking a mail delivery truck stopped at a mailbox making a delivery. The driver crossed over the left-turn lane and traveled into the southbound lane, striking  a 2017 Jeep Cherokee heading south that was being driven by a 25-year-old Howell resident.

Both drivers were transported by Livingston County EMS to the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor with serious injuries. Speed and restraint use remain under investigation in this crash. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be factors in this crash, which remains under investigation by the Livingston County Major Crash Team.

Deputies were assisted on the scene by the Livingston County Ambulance Service and the Howell Area Fire Department.
