Single-vehicle crash sends one to hospital in critical condition

A 19-year-old Midland resident, identified as Trevor Wayne Brock, is in critical condition after a single-car rollover crash at approximately 6:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, on Nicholson Road south of West Allen Road in Handy Township.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Brock was heading north on Nicholson Road when he lost control of the 2003 Oldsmobile Alero he was driving. The vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees before overturning in a drainage ditch and partially submerging. Good Samaritans attempted to rescue the driver until fire personnel arrived to extricate him from the car.

Brock was transported to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing by Livingston County EMS. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and speed appears to be a factor; it is currently unknown if alcohol was involved.

Deputies were assisted on scene by the Fowlerville Fire Department and Livingston County Ambulance. The accident remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Team.
