The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and the Howell Kiwanis Club are sponsoring a blood drive in honor of National Police Week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, May 18, at the Head Start building in the LESA complex at 1425 W. Grand River Ave. in Howell.

Because of a recent ice storm, the Livingston County Chapter of the American Red Cross had to cancel a blood drive, which makes this drive all the more critical. All blood types are in important, and, in particular, O-negative blood is in demand.

While donation appointments are preferred, drop-ins are always welcome.
