Sheriff’s funding for additional patrols results in 85 traffic stops

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office recently participated in the Office of Highway Safety Planning October Click It or Ticket It Enforcement Period. From Oct. 17-31 the Sheriff’s Office received funding to support 64 hours of additional patrols that were conducted in Brighton Township.

This effort resulted in 85 traffic stops and 45 citations for no seat belt use. In addition, nine speeding citations were issued, one felony arrest and two misdemeanor arrests resulted from the additional enforcement period.

As a reminder, seat belt use continues to be the single most vital piece of equipment in saving lives of those involved in traffic crashes.

The Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the December Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign to reduce drunk driving during the holiday season.
