Join CTH for a thrill ride of mystery and adventure aboard the famous Orient Express as it journeys through the snow-capped mountains of Eastern Europe, when, just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks; in the morning an American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to stop the murderer – in case they decide to strike again.

From now until opening night, we’ll be introducing you to members of the cast. In this story, we meet Kim White of Howell, who plays Princess Dragomiroff. She retired from the University of Michigan in 2022.

How did you first become involved with CTH? How many shows have you been involved with?

I was cast in my first CTH show in 1994 when I went to support two friends who were auditioning for “Fiddler on the Roof”. Over the years I have been in, played music for, or worked on over 30 CTH productions.

What do you like most about being involved with CTH?

It truly is a community of those who love theatre and acting. Although my kids are now grown with children of their own, they grew up being in shows, learning  responsibilities, gaining cofidence and in some cases, met people who are still friends almost 30 years later!

As an actor, I enjoy the rehearsal process most – from the awkward early blocking and learning lines to developing the story and characters so the audience  believes our moments on stage. The performances are icing on the cake.

What do you like about the show “Murder on the Orient Express?”

So many talented people behind the scenes – our director and producer, costumer, lighting and sound team, set design/props/build crew, and our amazing stage crew have been working tirelessly to create the Orient Express. They are a great team and inspire us all to do our best

Tell us about your role in the show and why you like it.

I play an aging Russian princess traveling on the Orient Express from Istanbul to Paris. A number of the passengers are from around the globe and speak with accents; this is an exciting challenge for me in bringing my character to life.

What can the audience expect when they come to see the show?

Audiences will be taken on a harrowing journey with many twists and turns. As the old movie quote says, “Fasten your seatbelts; it’s going to be a bumpy night.”
