Fowlerville resident in critical condition after being struck by truck on Christmas morning

A 29-year-old Fowlerville resident is hospitalized at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing with critical injuries after being hit by a truck on Christmas morning after walking out into oncoming traffic on Grand River Avenue.

According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, deputes were dispatched to the accident at approximately 6:33 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019.

The preliminary investigation shows the Fowlerville resident was walking westbound on West Grand River Avenue before walking out into oncoming traffic and being struck by a 2015 Ford F-150 driven by a 50-year-old Williamston resident. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Speed an alcohol do not appear to be factors in this crash, and it remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Team.

Deputies were assisted on the scene by the Fowlerville Police Department, Fowlerville Fire Department, and Livingston County Ambulance.
