Body of missing woman found near adult foster home

The body of a 80-year-old woman with dementia who went missing on Monday was located at about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, by a civilian searching the area near where she had been last seen.

According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, the body of Althea Greene was found about 2,000 feet north of the adult foster home in the 5000 block of Green Road in Oceola Township from which she had walked away at about 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8. Her body was found in a small clearing with tall weeds surrounded by woods; she was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency personnel.

There is no evidence of any foul play, and the incident is still under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Fairbanks at (517) 546-2440.
