Sen. Stabenow invites Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively to join her for dinner at Zukey Lake Tavern

So now the whole world knows that Ryan Reynolds’ favorite piece of clothing is a Zukey Lake Tavern T-shirt. And a U.S. senator just invited Reynolds and his famous wife to join her for dinner there.

Reynolds (the mega-star of the “Deadpool” franchise) said in an interview with the New York Times last week that his favorite piece of clothing is an old T-shirt from the Zukey Lake Tavern in Pinckney.

The Livingston Post was the first Michigan-based media outlet to take note of that fact, and our story on it went viral, picking up more than 500 Facebook shares and (at last count) more than 12,000 views. Since then, the story was picked up by the Detroit Free Press and numerous other outlets.

Among those taking note of Reynolds’ love for his Zukey Lake Tavern T-shirt was U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich. She tweeted that she’s eaten at Zukey’s many times (she used to represent Livingston County in Congress), and offered up an invitation:

Blake Lively is Reynolds’ actress wife.

The fact that Reynolds owns a Zukey Lake Tavern T-shirt is no secret to the locals — there’s a photo of him on the wall of the tavern in his shirt — but this is the first time he’s publicly professed his love for the garment.

And we’re hoping he takes Sen. Stabenow up on her offer.
