“Mommologues: Musings on Motherhood” comes to Howell Opera House May 8

Big MomSome of Livingston County’s best-known and most-beloved writers and performers come together at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at the Howell Opera House for a series of readings in celebration of Mother’s Day. The event, “Mommologues: Musings on Motherhood,” benefits LACASA, the county organization that works with victims and survivors of child abuse, sexual assault and domestic violence.

Readers who will share pieces they’ve written on motherhood include acclaimed storyteller Jeff Doyle; award-winning writers Buddy Moorehouse and Maria Stuart; The Great Foodini, aka Rene Chodkowski; and journalist and blogger Mona Shand.

“We all know what an important role moms play in our community and in our society, and we want to celebrate that experience and give it a voice,” Shand said. “The Mommologues is an attempt put into words some of the things we’ve learned from our moms and as parents ourselves.”

“Mommologues” is produced by Shand and Stuart. Sponsors of the event include The Livingston Post, and Christina Maria Photo & Design.

Tickets for “Mommologues: Musings on Motherhood” are $12 each and can be purchased by clicking here.
