Howell paddleboarder dies after being pulled from Briggs Lake in Green Oak Township

A 51-year-old Howell man who had been paddleboarding on Briggs Lake in Green Oak Township was declared dead after being pulled from the water on Sunday, June 21.

According to reporting by Click on Detroit.com, police responded to reports of a man in the water at about 1 p.m. Sunday. Life-saving measures were attempted immediately after the man was pulled from the water and continued until the arrival of personnel from Livingston County EMS, who transported the man to a local area hospital where he was declared dead.

According to preliminary information, the man had been paddleboarding when he fell into the water.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Green Oak Township Police Department at (810) 231-1333.
