Hartland plays host to Stevenson in regular-season finale — with broadcast link

HARTLAND — Their spot in the playoffs assured, the Hartland football team looks to both improve its standing and end the regular seasn with a flourish tonight.

Hartland (6-3), which finished fourth in the KLAA West this season,. takes on Livonia Stevenson (4-4) tonight on Senior Night in  a game to be broadcast on The Livingston Post at 6:50 p.m. Click here for the link.

It’s the first meeting between the schools in five years. Hartland won that game 21-13 in the only previous meeting.

The Eagles feature running back Joey Mattord, who missed the second half of a loss to Northville two weeks ago, but rushed for 24 yards and four touchdowns in last week’s 34-18 win over Canton. Mattord has rushed for 999 yards and 15 touchdowns this season and also returned three punts for scores.

The Eagles have also developed a passing attack, which keeps defenses from keying on Mattord. Jaxson Wilson has 16 catches for 255 yards and a touchdown, while Mitch Cavanaugh has added 11 receptions for 193 yards and three scores.

Stevenson is 4-3 after a home loss to Howell in the season opener.
