Two landowner open houses are scheduled in Fowlerville to provide information and gather community input on a new 50-mile high-voltage transmission line that will connect ITC’s Oneida substation in Eaton County to a new station in Cohoctah Township. The line is part of a $21.8 billion plan of Novi-based ITC, which owns the energy transmission system for much of the Lower Peninsula and looks to expand electricity transmission across the midwest.

The landowner open houses, the third phase of ITC’s public and community engagement process, are open house style, where people can drop in any time. No formal presentation will be given. The open houses offer an opportunity to learn more about the project and provide input in the early planning stages.
The open houses are set for noon to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, and Thursday, July 30, in the cafeteria of Fowlerville Elementary School, 420 N. Hibbard St.
