Fowlerville gymnasts finish a strong fourth in their first state-championship appearance

The Fowlerville High School gymnastics team used an especially strong performance on floor exercise to finish fourth out of 13 teams in the state gymnastics finals on Friday in Rockford.

The Glads were making their first appearance as a team in the state finals after winning their first-ever regional championship last week. The fourth-place finish at the state meet was the culmination of an incredible season for the team.

The Fowlerville team includes gymnasts from Fowlerville, Pinckney, Perry and Byron high schools.

Also placing at the state meet were Howell in seventh place and Hartland in ninth place.

The state meet continues today with the individual competition. Several individuals from the Livingston County schools will be competing.
