City honors Manor with proclamation

Longtime Howell City Council member Steve Manor was honored for his many years of service to the community with a special ceremony and breakfast on Wednesday, July 20, during which he was awarded a proclamation of appreciation.

At the special ceremony honoring Howell City Council member Steve Manor are, from L-R, former city council members Scott Niblock, Jeanette Ambrose and Randy Greene; Howell Mayor Bob Ellis; current council members Manor, Jan Lobur and Jacob Schlittler; and former Howell Mayor Nick Proctor.

Manor, a retired Howell High School teacher and community activist, was first elected to the Howell City Council in 1999. He’s been active on the council, serving as the city’s mayor pro term, as well as the city’s representative on the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority, the street committee, and as delegate to the SEMCOG (Southeast Michigan Council of Governments). He’s also served in various community roles, including as a DDA volunteer, and as a member of the Livingston Diversity Council.

After serving as mayor pro term since 1999, Manor resigned that leadership role in June. His position is up for re-election in 2023.
