The Fowlerville High School Dance Team’s success – winning a championship in only its sixth year of existence – has attracted the attention of the entire State of Michigan.

State Rep. Hank Vaupel, R-Fowlerville, presented the dance team with a legislative tribute from the State of Michigan on Dec. 14, praising the team for its artistic excellence and outstanding sportsmanship. The tribute was signed by Vaupel, along with State Rep. Lana Theis and State Sen. Joe Hune.

Vaupel presented the legislative tribute during a surprise ceremony at Maria’s School of Dance in Fowlerville, just as the team was beginning practice.

“This is something that I can brag about to everyone at the State Capitol,” Vaupel said. “I know how much hard work and dedication it takes to win a championship. We’re just so proud of what you’ve accomplished.”
