“Winning Women” event benefits LACASA

Winning Women, a Southeast Michigan Empowerment Event which will benefit LACASA Center, is set for Friday, Jan. 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Washtenaw Community College.

The morning event and luncheon will provide a dynamic networking opportunity and is aimed at empowering, elevating, and educating women in fearless pursuit of their professional career.

UTEC of Ann Arbor, the event sponsor, will award LACASA Center with the event’s net proceeds. LACASA is an independent nonprofit that provides comprehensive services under one roof for victims of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault.

Four speakers are scheduled to talk on topics of empowerment and leadership. Keynote speaker, Angela T. Moore, is an experienced empowerment advocate from Michigan who works as an inspirational life coach and consultant. For more than two decades, she has assisted clients in attaining their fitness and life goals. Her presentation will be on “Living an Empowered Life.”

Dr. Doris Fields’ presentation, “Women in Leadership,” will highlight her areas of specialization including interracial and intercultural communication. Dr. Fields is the director of undergraduate studies and a professor of communication at Eastern Michigan University.

A segment on “Leveraging Talent,” presented by Lizbeth Wiggins, also will take place. Wiggins is a workplace psychologist and business professional with more than 20 years of experience in organizational and talent development, including performance management, coaching, recruiting, and individual psychological assessment.

In addition, Dr. Navpreet Saini will offer advice on “Overcoming Challenges.” Dr. Saini is a family wellness chiropractor with a passion to educate and serve her community and create healthier futures for many generations to come.

Tickets are $50 and include all presentations and a catered lunch. Free on-site parking and continental breakfast also are included. Headshot photo sessions will be available during the event. Seating is limited and early registration is advised.
