Volunteers needed for Community Connect event

Area residents are invited to attend the 13th Annual Livingston County Community Connect from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, at Howell Parker Middle School, 400 Wright Road.

The Livingston County Homeless Continuum of Care Committee hosts this free event each year to connect people with needed information, resources, and free services in a family-friendly, convenient environment. Guests will have access to free health screenings, legal consultation, employment services featuring local job opportunities, food, clothing, books, personal care items, haircuts, and much more.

The event includes fun activities for the kids, but no childcare.  Lunch is also provided on-site, at no cost.  No registration is required.  Guests are responsible for their own transportation to and from the event.
Hundreds of dedicated volunteers are needed to welcome guests, help them find resources and navigate the event.  Volunteers capable of lifting tables and chairs are needed for Friday set-up and Saturday take-down after the event.  Free lunch, snacks, and beverages are also provided to Saturday volunteers.

Community Connect is sponsored by First National Bank, Brighton Masonic Lodge, and Livingston County United Way.  Volunteers may register on-line by visiting http://www.volunteerlivingston.org/event/detail/?event_id=53368

Volunteer registrations are due by Jan. 27.
