Mt. Brighton permanently closes its golf course

Mt. Brighton has decided to concentrate on winter sports only.

The ski hill in Genoa Township announced on its website recently that it was closing its golf course permanently. The announcement read:

After careful consideration, we have made the decision to permanently close the Mt Brighton Golf Course. Throughout the summer months, we will continue to place our focus on the upcoming ski and snowboard season and look forward to welcoming our guests back to Mt Brighton this winter.

The ski hill closed all its operations in March when the COVID-19 outbreak hit, and has remained closed ever since. Mt. Brighton says it’s planning to open for skiing and snowboarding this winter.

The golf course, which opened a couple decades ago, was always one of the most unique layouts in Livingston County – particularly the holes which had golfers teeing off from atop the ski hill.
