Livingston Sensation finalists heading to balloonfest

After two semifinals at Cleary’s Pub in downtown Howell, nine finalists have been selected to sing at the finals of the Livingston Sensation singing contest on Sunday, June 28, at the Michigan Challenge Balloonfest.

“One talented performer will sing his or her way to a hot-air balloon ride,” said Michelle Tokan, Michigan Challenge director. “The finalists are amazing singers and will put on quite a show at balloonfest.”

The nine finalists are: Courtney Darrow of Fowlerville; Jeremy Hertz of Howell; Christopher Brandt of Brighton; Sydney Woll of Howell; Chad Bondie of Howell; Samantha Goodell of Brighton; Brenna Shea of Brighton; Sarah Brown of Howell; and Darla Maroudis of Howell

The finalists will sing a song of their choice at 2 p.m. on the balloonfest main stage. The winner will receive a hot-air balloon ride from Howell pilot Denny McGuire.

The Michigan Challenge Balloonfest is the state championship of hot-air ballooning, and is held at the Howell High School complex, June 26-28.  The event features five scheduled balloon launches, skydiving, fireworks, entertainment and family activities and attractions. The Michigan Challenge Balloonfest is hosted by the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce. Major sponsor is Lake Trust Credit Union.
