LACASA Center’s Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Council will hold its annual CAP Kids’ Fair 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.Saturday, June 3, and Sunday, June 4, at Pinckney’s Art in the Park Festival.

“The CAP Kids’ Fair is one of our most fun events of the year,” said Holly Naylor, CAP Council coordinator. “It is a great way for parents to get valuable health and safety information while enjoying spending time together as a family.”

This year’s CAP Kids’ Fair will again feature a free ice cream and book for each child while supplies last, a Saturday visit from one of Livingston County Sheriff’s Mounted Division horses, make-and-take crafts, and animals from local 4-H clubs.

The Pirate Treasure Hunt will also be back. Kids and parents who visit each CAP Kids’ Fair exhibitor and participating Art in the Park non-profit booths will earn a raffle ticket to go towards a prize. Treasure Hunt raffle prizes include a $100 Visa gift card, a ‘Day in Hell’ gift basket, and a ‘Fun in the Sun’ children’s toy set. The prize drawing will take place on Sunday at 5 p.m., but winners do not need to be present at the drawing.

Families also can enjoy Art in the Park festivities, which feature original and unique art from over 100 vendors, entertainment, and lots of food and drink options. Art in the Park is held in the Putnam Township Square in downtown Pinckney.

Exhibitors for the 2017 CAP Kids’ Fair include the CAP Council, Bikers Against Child Abuse, Livingston County Sheriff’s Mounted Division, Great Start Livingston, Head Start, the Livingston County Health Department, and Volunteer Livingston.

The CAP Council operates under the umbrella of LACASA Center, which provides critical services for victims of child abuse and interpersonal violence. LACASA and CAP host county-wide parenting education programs and child abuse prevention seminars throughout the year.
