The Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy robotics team in Brighton is headed to the FIRST in Michigan robotics state championship at Saginaw Valley State University. The competition runs April 14-16.
The CSPA Gems won their first event at Milford High School as the No. 5 seed, beating the No. 1 seed in the semifinals. At the Belleville competition, they were the No. 1 seed and came away with the win.
Other Livingston County teams the competition include #3536 Electro Eagles Hartland, #3668 TroBots Whimore Lake, #3707 Brighton TechnoDogs Brighton, #4362 CSPA Gems Brighton, #4776 S.C.O.T.S. Bots Howell, and #7056 The F.A.S.T. Team Fowlerville.
Heading into the State Championship, the CSPA Gems are ranked No. 9 in the state out of 459 teams.
