How did the Bible come to be? Can the Bible be trusted? Many people today consider themselves spiritual, but not dogmatic. Immanuel Lutheran Church of Howell is hosting a one night seminar to give Christians, searchers, and skeptics alike a chance to sort out for themselves fact from fiction regarding the origins of the Bible.
“We want to help answer these questions and to enrich the spiritual lives of those who attend,” said Reverend Eric Forss, Pastor of Immanuel. “We believe this will be an interesting, informative, and faith-enriching presentation.”
The speaker will be Reverend Charles Schulz, Pastor of St. Thomas Lutheran Church of Ann Arbor and Professor of Religion at Concordia University, Ann Arbor. The presentation includes time for questions, discussion and refreshments.
Professor Schulz observes, “Once people move past the hype and into the historical facts, the unique character of the Scripture becomes clear.”
The seminar will be from 7 to 9 pm on Tuesday, May 8, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 1944 Oak Grove Road in Howell, 1/4 mile North of M-59. There is no charge. Please contact the church (517-548-2066 or Immanuel_Lutheran_Howell@juno.com) for further information.
