Your last chance to get a Turtle Sundae is this weekend.

Brighton’s iconic Yum Yum Tree restaurant will be closing its doors for good on Sunday, ending its run of more than three decades in town. The Main Street restaurant, located a stone’s throw from the Mill Pond, has been a beloved destination for several generations of area residents.

When word got out on Wednesday that the restaurant would be closing its doors for goods, Facebook was flooded with thousands of messages, all of them saying pretty much the same thing: “NOOOOO!!”

In a Facebook posting on the Yum Yum Tree’s page, the owners said they’ll be opening on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, giving fans one last chance to get a scoop of ice cream or a sandwich.

Here are the hours for this weekend:

FRIDAY, Feb. 23 – 5-10 p.m.

SATURDAY, Feb. 24 – Noon to 10 p.m.

SUNDAY, Feb. 25 – 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., although the owners say they’ll keep the doors open as long as people keep coming in.
