Wild West Hollywood comes to Howell

DD Will Roberts rope trick cpdrszHollywood meets up with the old Wild West when LACASA Center hosts Denim & Diamonds, a jeans-preferred fundraising event, set for Saturday, Sept. 19, at the scenic Haggerty-Bearden Ranch in Howell.

Internationally renowned cowboys, Joey Dillon and Will Roberts, will perform jaw-dropping feats as they twirl ropes, crack whips, spin six-shooters, and whoop it up throughout the evening.

This award-winning duo has a long list of film credits working as actors, stunt trainers and historic consultants on Western television and movie sets.  Dillon is a multiple world champion at the art of trick gun handling and Roberts is a former Cirque du Soleil artist. The pair blend humor and history during their corral and strolling performances.

Event guests can interact with Dillon and Roberts and enjoy a full evening of entertainment including acrobatic horse shows, live music, line-dancing lessons, down-home cooking, and fun-around-the-bonfire with gourmet s’mores.

The fifth annual Denim & Diamonds party features a Wild West gambling barn where cowpokes can roll dice, spin wheels and play cards for luxury prizes. This year, the charity’s 52-card “Dazzling Diamond Raffle” features a multi-carat diamond bracelet donated by Cooper & Binkley Jewelers of Brighton.

Auctioned during the evening will be a “Fabulous French Feast,” prepared in tandem by Renee Chodkowski  (The Great Foodini) and Steven Bearden (chef and event host). The highest bidder—along with friends they invite—will win a seven-course gastronomic journey through France. This once-in-a-lifetime experience includes limousine service to a estate location and bountiful wine pairings before, during and after the dinner.

Other attractions at the event include the Rattlesnake Saloon featuring fine cigars and spirits, social media photo vignettes, and an evening’s end fireworks display of grand-finale proportions.

Tickets for Denim & Diamonds, which is from 6 – 10 p.m., are $100. All proceeds benefit victims of child abuse and interpersonal violence from Livingston County. The ticket price includes parking, valet wagon rides, wine and beer, gambling-loot starter kits, and a full-course country dinner.

Guests may purchase tickets in Brighton at Cooper and Binkley Jewelers, and in Howell at Brunner’s Restaurant, Howell Western Wear or LACASA Center. Tickets also are available online at lacasacenter.org.
