Despite being warned about Coronavirus in January by members of his own administration, President Donald Trump called the virus a “Democrat hoax” and downplayed the threat. Now as doctors and nurses are sounding alarms about the lack of supplies, he’s accused them of selling their face masks and claimed the hospitals don’t need the ventilators they’ve requested.
Our health care workers are under-resourced and patients are suffering, while Trump focuses on shifting blame and picking political fights with governors like Whitmer and Cuomo, both of whom are working to keep their constituents safe. Even as we all fight a global pandemic, President Trump is working to strip health care away from 720,000 Michiganders by asking the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down the Affordable Care Act.
Donald Trump’s erratic response to the Coronavirus crisis has failed Michigan. He has left doctors and nurses health at risk by not providing adequate medical supplies such as personal protection devices, masks and ventilators. All the while he continues to attack health care for everyday people.
Trump should do his job and manage the crisis instead of attacking leaders like Gov. Whitmer.
