Thanks to Howell community for bond issue support

Dear Howell Community:

On behalf of the students, staff, administration, and Board of Education of Howell Public Schools, I would like to extend a sincere thank you to each of you who supported the Howell Public Schools bond proposal on May 7. The approval of this proposal will allow the district to implement new security measures to help keep students safe, replace failing roofs and heating and cooling equipment, and revamp some of our instructional spaces to create 21st-century learning environments. It will also fund upgrades to our performing arts center and some of our athletic facilities.

A high-quality school district is one of the key factors in any vibrant community. The passage of the bond and investment in our district will make us a stronger community. It will help support home values and attract new families to the area. However, most importantly, it will ensure that our students are coming to a safe and comfortable learning environment each day.

We will immediately take the necessary steps to issue the bonds and begin the planning phase to implement the various upgrades that the bond will fund. Our hope is to begin addressing some of the more urgent needs almost immediately after the school year ends. We will also be revamping the bond section of our website to provide updates on the status of the bond work.

In closing, I would once again like to thank each of you who supported this proposal. The pride in our community and schools is one of the best things about Howell and that showed strong in the passage of this proposal.

Erin J. MacGregor, Ed.S.
Superintendent
Howell Public Schools
