The BHS Dance Company held a water drive Saturday, Feb. 6, to help Flint residents who cannot readily access donated water.
The Dance Company collected from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Brighton VG’s parking lot. The BHS Boys’ Basketball team and coaches came out in two shifts of 15 boys to help load the water into the truck.
Matrix Quality Services and Transportation came to VG’s with a SUV full of water for the drive; they also donated a truck with a driver (Bob), to deliver the water to Bethlehem Temple Church in Flint, which is distributing the water to those who cannot access clean water. A number of BHSDC girls and moms followed the truck to Flint and helped unload the water to a very grateful church community.
The water drive had a great turn out: A total of 370 cases and 100 gallons of water was delivered.
A special thanks to the coach and all the moms, dads and girls of the BHS Dance Company who helped plan and carry out the event, to the coaches and boys basketball team for loading the water into the truck, to Matrix Quality Services and Transportation for the water and truck donation, to the truck driver Bob for driving the water to Flint, to VG’s in Brighton for use of their parking lot and a huge thank you to all the people in the community that came out and made a donation.
We are proud to be a part of this giving community!
Thank you again,
