St. Mary in Pinckney was one of the local organizations to receive food, toiletries, and household paper products collected Saturday by local law enforcement agencies including the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, the Howell, Fowlerville and Hamburg Township Police Departments and Michigan State Police. Aldi in Howell, Kroger in Howell and Hamburg Township and Walmart stores in Howell and Fowlerville served as collection spots.

Community donations made the second “Cram the Cruiser” drive a big success. Sheriff Mike Murphy said the food drive helps because it’s pantry stuff being collected that the food banks and local shelters can push out to keep food and supplies available.

Contributions by neighbors were matched with donations of fresh bread and frozen turkeys by Kroger in Hamburg.

St. Mary is grateful for the generous outpouring of support. These donations will aid its Christmas Giving Tree and food baskets, which provides assistance for families in the surrounding community. It also helps restock St. Mary’s pantry to assist those in need throughout the year.
