The Brighton District Library invites you to Springfest Sunday, June 9 from 1-4pm. This family event hails the arrival of the annual Summer Reading Program. Enjoy live entertainment, special activities, ice cream, and fun for all ages! Register for A Universe of Stories, this year’s Summer Reading Program theme and pick up a summer events brochure.
Held in Millie’s Garden, this year’s free Springfest celebration offers an exciting line up of entertainment including a visit from princesses Belle and Cinderella, a giant bubble creation station, the Jumpin’ ALL STARS Jump Rope Team, Chamberlin Petting Farm, juggler and stilt walker Jason Kollum, soccer fun with Legacy Center, Jason Kollum’s Comedy and variety show, free ice cream, and balloons.
The library is the perfect destination to a summer of activities and programs planned throughout the eight-week reading program. Families can connect, grow, and discover while letting their imaginations take off with books, music, movies, special events, and great fun!
“The Summer Reading Program encourages reading during the long summer months which helps to maintain the gains made during the school year. Of all the activities children and teens participate in, time spent reading is the best predictor of reading achievement. The more kids read, the better readers they will become,” said Head of Youth Services, Carla Sharp.
