Reader apparently forgets he endorsed disgraced Judge Theresa Brennan

While David Reader pointed out that the man he’s challenging in the Aug. 4, 2020, Republican primary endorsed disgraced former judge Theresa Brennan in 2014 in her last run for office, he apparently forgot that he did as well.

And he apparently forgot that both of their endorsements appeared together in the very same ad in the special section of the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus that was promoting the Kiwanis Concerts at the Brighton Mill Pond.

On June 30, 2020, the David Reader for Livingston County Prosecutor Facebook page posted this:

You know what they say about assuming anything, so you can make your own judgment on the meaning of this post.

Do the same with this ad:

In this 2014 endorsement of Brennan, Reader said: “Judge Brennan is a proven leader who is uniquely qualified to continue serving the people of Livingston County. Her dedication to public service and work ethic are exceptional.”

The endorsement came 17 months after Jerome Kowalski was found guilty of murdering his brother and sister-in-law in the trial over which Brennan presided, and which led to her removal from the bench. It also came five years after attorney Tom Kizer filed a complaint with the Supreme Court Administrative Office and the Livingston County Board of Commissioners about Brennan’s attitude and behavior toward attorneys, those who appeared in her courtroom, as well as county employees.

Brennan’s fall from grace is emerging as the central issue in the race between Livingston County Prosecutor Bill Vailliencourt and David Reader in the Aug. 4, 2020, Republican primary.
