What has become the annual “State of the County” presentation is set for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Wes Nakagiri, chair of the Livingston County Board of Commissioners, will be joined by Nathan Burd, county administrator, and a handful of county department directors to providea look at 2022.
The event will take place in the second-floor auditorium of the Jack E. LaBelle Public Safety Complex at 1911 Tooley Road in Howell Township. It will also be livestreamed — click here to tune in.
If you are planning to attend in person, email commissioners@livgov.com to help with preparation for the event.

Wes Nakagiri delivered the 2021 ‘State of the County’ just ten months ago, on January 3, 2022.
Wes Nakagiri will present the 2022 ‘State of the County’ address a full two months before the county’s fiscal year ends and one week before the polls open on Nov. 8.
The premature 2022 address raises questions about the sitting County Chair and Board of Commissioners’ integrity, motivation, and fiscal responsibility, including:
1) Who will benefit from this premature address one week before elections?
2) Is it right that the ‘State of the County’ address be used as a partisan campaign tool?
3) Is a premature presentation an acceptable use or a blatant abuse of county time and resources?
4) Is this early address indicative of utter confidence in election outcome or does it signal concerns over holding onto their county seats?
