Light of the World Academy is hiring: Teacher, instructional aides, before/after care

Light of the World Academy, a K-7 Montessori charter school in Pinckney, is hiring. The school is looking for a teacher, several instructional aides and a before-care/after-care worker.

Here are the positions Light of the World Academy is looking to fill:

TEACHER

State-certified, Montessori-trained teacher. This is a full-time position with benefits. This role will be responsible for:

  • Developing lesson plans and managing learning experiences for students to ensure the needs of the groups and individuals are met.
  • Maintaining a neat, well organized, and attractive prepared environment consistent with Montessori pedagogy.
  • Using engaging, creative and appropriate assignments and resources to help students make connections with learning outside the educational environment.
  • Effectively utilizes and integrates a variety of technology into daily instruction with students. Makes purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that provide for effective teaching strategies and maximize time on task.
  • Planning and implementing a program of study designed to meet individual needs of students.

Requirements:

  • Possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated teacher leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be highly qualified and possess a valid teacher certification.
  • Previous Montessori experience preferred.

INSTRUCTIONAL AIDES

The aides work in the Montessori classroom alongside the teacher. Applicants should have experience in a school environment or working with children. This is a 29-hour-a-week position. Applicants must have at least 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university.

BEFORE AND AFTER CARE

Hours for this position are 6:45-8:30 a.m. and 3:15-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applicants should have experience working with children.
