Jingle and mingle at Fantasy of Lights

Businesses, bands and community groups have a chance to be part of the celebration in downtown Howell on Friday, Nov. 25 at the 33rd annual Fantasy of Lights Parade. This year’s parade theme is Jingle Around the Block.  Float applications can be downloaded at www.howell.org.

“Having a float in the Fantasy of Lights Parade is a great way to get in the holiday spirit,” said Michelle Tokan, Fantasy of Lights Director. “Many organizations construct floats as a team-building experience. Plus, it’s rewarding to have your float seen by thousands of spectators cheering along the parade route.”

Each entry in the Fantasy of Lights parade must be illuminated with a minimum of 5,000 holiday lights. Parade applications must be received by Nov. 1. The event marks the arrival of the holiday season in Howell and has attracted thousands of  spectators lining the Grand River Avenue parade route.

The event is hosted by the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Major sponsor of the Fantasy of Lights Parade is Cobb-Hall Insurance. Supporting Sponsors are Citizens Insurance and Blue Care Network of Michigan. Saint Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital sponsors Santa and his reindeer; and Christmas Alley is sponsored by LOC Federal Credit Union.
Fantasy of Lights activities begin in downtown Howell at 4 p.m. The Fantasy 5K Run begins at 6 p.m. followed by the start of the parade at 7 p.m. Fantasy 5K Platinum Sponsor is Champion Automotive Group. Runners can register for the 5K at howellfantasy5k.com.
