The Howell Area Chamber of Commerce has been named a finalist in Michigan’s Outstanding Chamber of the Year (along with the Traverse City Area and Grand Rapids Area chambers) by the Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals.

Each year, chambers of commerce from across the state submit their statistics, goals and accomplishments to be judged for the Outstanding Chamber of the Year.

The Howell chamber’s advocacy in 2016 included efforts and focus on multiple economic and community efforts, including place-making, new business development, and mass transit initiatives, among others.

“Being named a finalist as Outstanding Chamber is an absolute honor,” said Pat Convery, president of the Howell chamber. “We are privileged to be recognized along with two other very fine Michigan chambers. Kudos to our chamber Board of Directors, our dedicated members and outstanding staff who all work so hard to ensure we are following our mission and continue to be leaders in the community.”

The winner will be announced at the annual Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals conference in Ann Arbor on Oct. 27.
