The Howell Area Chamber of Commerce and Consumers Energy are partnering again this year for the “Our Town” Match Program, which provides a dollar-for-dollar match for Chamber Cash purchases beginning at noon MONDAY, DEC. 6, while funds are available.

“This program was very successful last year and we are excited to do it again,” said Janelle Best, president of the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce. “The goal is to support local small businesses during the holiday season and give consumers more local buying power, especially in the current economy.”

“Consumers Energy is excited to again support Michigan’s small businesses and communities we serve this holiday season. ‘Our Town’ made an impact across Michigan last year, and we look forward to seeing the program’s dollars and shoppers give a boost to shops and restaurants in their hometowns,” said Lauren Youngdahl Snyder, Consumers Energy’s vice president of customer experience.

Anyone can purchase Chamber Cash, and will receive a match up to $250 per individual. The program will match $10,000 and stimulate the local economy with a total of $20,000 in chamber cash certificates to be used at participating member businesses. For a complete list of merchant participants, go to howell.org/chambercash.

Consumers Energy selects downtowns and communities to participate in the program in an effort to help spread holiday cheer by putting more dollars back into the businesses that keep the economy moving.

The program is limited while funds are available.

Individuals can purchase certificates in increments of $10, $20, or $50 up to $250 to receive a $250 match maximum per person.

The one-to-one match per person is up to a total of $500 in gift certificates.

Purchase of the gift certificates is open to the community.
