A community input forum, hosted by Howell Main Street Inc., will collect input from Howell residents, developers, and anyone looking to open a business in the community, from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at Block Brewing Co., 1140 S Michigan Ave.
The forum in the second step of Howell Main Street’s strategic planning for the future grown and success of downtown Howell. The consultant-based service is provided at no cost because of the support of Main Street America and the Michigan Main Street Center.
Howell Main Street and downtown Howell won the Great American Main Street Award in 2018.
“In order for our downtown community to continue to thrive and grow in a way that the community will support 10-20 plus years down the road, we need to be strategic in our development and planning approach, said Cathleen Edgerly, Howell Main Street director and Downtown Development COO. “Downtown Howell has long served as the heart and hub of our community, but we want to ensure downtown Howell, and therefore the entire city, can be a sustainable destination for both our residents and visitors. We look forward to having everyone join us tomorrow night at Block Brewing during some portion of the input forum.”
A follup-up “Unveil Open House” is set for 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, in the Meabon Room of the Howell Carnegie District Library, 314 W. Grand River Ave., to review results of the community survey, as well as view development options tdesigned following Tuesday’s Community Forum.
