“Guys and Dolls” taking over Howell High School

Howell High School’s Performing Arts Department will present “Guys and Dolls” April 12 and 13 at 7 p.m. and April 14 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for students/seniors and $12 for adults and can be purchased in the Howell High School main office and online at http://howellperformingarts.ludus.com. All performances will be held in the Howell High School Rod Bushey Performing Arts Center.

“Guys and Dolls” is the story of luck and love. Nathan Detroit (Nic Bishop) is planning his next illegal craps game, but cannot find a safe location for the game, and lacks the money to pay for it. To raise the money, Nathan bets Sky Masterson (Ben Dean) that Sky cannot get  “Save-A-Soul” missionary Sarah Brown (Lindsay Schnute) to travel to Havana on a date with him. Meanwhile, Nathan tries to keep his longtime finance’ Miss Adelaide (Elissa Mockbil) at bay as she pushes for her trip to the altar. The musical features many well-known Broadway tunes such as “Luck Be a Lady,” “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat” and “Marry the Man Today.”

“From songs that will have the audience tapping their feet, to outstanding choreography, “Guys and Dolls” is always a fan favorite. We are so excited to bring this popular musical to life on the stage of the Rod Bushey Performing Arts Center,” said Joey Burgam, the show’s director.

The supporting cast of “Guys and Dolls” includes Nicely-Nicely Johnson (Danny Maura), Benny South Street (Brandon Tann), Rusty Charlie (Sebastian Panozzo), Harry the Horse (Seth Taylor), Big Jule (Kaleah Fulton), Aunt Arvide (Lilly Thomson), General Cartwright (Marie Mayo) and Lieutenant Brannigan Hunter Allen).

The Howell High School Rod Bushey Performing Arts Center is located at 1200 W. Grand River, Howell Mich.
