LACASA Center’s Denim & Diamonds fall fundraiser is set for 5:30-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Cross W Ranch in Howell.

This jeans-preferred event offers a fun-filled evening with live entertainment, dancing, Wild West gambling, cattle penning demonstrations, and a variety of western-themed activities, topped off with a grand finale fireworks display.

Throughout the evening, guests can test their skill roping “cattle” at the outdoor games, purchase tickets to mine for a $6,000 diamond and other gems at the Cooper & Binkley Diamond Mine raffle, and try their luck at black jack, craps and other casino games for the chance to win great prizes.

A live auction will offer event-goers the opportunity to bid on a week-long stay at an exclusive private vacation home on the edge of the Coconino National Forest in beautiful Sedona, AZ. Delicious barbeque and craft brews from Block Brewing, a roaring bonfire, line dancing, and live country-western music are staples at this high-energy event.

Kari Holmes and her band will once again perform country-rock originals and favorites. Holmes recently completed her first radio tour and is currently selling out shows across the Midwest. Her first single, “Something New,” made the top 200 on the Music Row chart when it was released to mainstream country radio, and her debut single, “More From Me,” hit number 21 on the Inspirational Country Music chart (ICM) in Nashville.

Emcees for the Western-style shindig are Mike Marino & Jon King, hosts of WHMI’s Mike and Jon in the Morning show, and local celebrity chef Renee Chodkowski, also known as The Great Foodini.

Marino and King wake up Livingston County with laughter every Monday-Friday on WHMI. Chodkowski has appeared on national food shows and competitions, including Master Chef with Gordon Ramsay. She hosts a weekly Foodini Friday show on WHMI’s Mike & Jon in the Morning program.

Event tickets are $100 per person and may be purchased at Cooper & Binkley Jewelers in Brighton and in Howell at Howell Western Wear, LACASA Center and the LACASA Collection. Tickets also are available online at lacasacenter.org.

Diamond Mine tickets also are available in advance. Only 100 tickets for this raffle will be offered. Every ticket holder will come away with a cubic zirconia, a gemstone, or the real diamond. Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased from now through noon on Friday, Oct. 12, at Cooper & Binkley Jewelers, Howell Western Wear, LACASA Center and the LACASA Collection. Although mining for the real diamond at Denim & Diamonds is half the fun, ticket holders need not be present to win. Winner will be announced at the end of the night on Oct. 13, 2018.

All proceeds from Denim & Diamonds and the Diamond Mine raffle stay local and benefit victims of child abuse and interpersonal violence from the community.
