Dance Express brings dazzling, award-winning numbers to the stage April 7 in Howell

The award-winning dancers from Dance Express will be bringing their dazzling numbers to the stage in Howell on April 7, as “A Time to Dance” takes the spotlight.

The show takes the stage at 7 p.m. April 7 at the Rod Bushey Performing Arts Center at Howell High School, 411 Highlander Way. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Tickets are available at Maria’s School of Dance in Fowlerville. For information, call 517-223-0036.

Dance Express is the award-winning competition dance troupe from Maria’s School of Dance – and they’re off to an incredible start to the competition season.

The team recently took top honors at the Access Broadway competition in Troy, earning the prestigious “Best Dance Studio” award. Dance Express also won top honors for “Best Choreography” (given to choreographer Kellie Beam for a lyrical group number called “The Scientist”), and came home with dozens of other trophies and Platinum awards.

And now, it’s time for local dance fans to see them in action.

All of their award-winning numbers from the Access Broadway competition will be performed at “A Time to Dance” – a variety of small-group, large-group and solo numbers covering every discipline from tap to jazz to lyrical and more. Several singing numbers will also be performed.

Dance Express will also be featuring its graduating high school seniors at the show, including Kerina Luark from Fowlerville High School and Jasmine Brause from Howell High School.
