County register of deeds appointed to state Electronic Recording Commission

Brandon Denby, Livingston County Register of Deeds.

Brandon Denby, Livingston County Register of Deeds, was chosen by Gove. Rick Synder to serve on the Electronic Recording Commission for a two-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2019. Denby enters this assignment with over 20 years of real estate, mortgage and title insurance experience, including over 15 years as owner and operator of the title insurance based company BD Liquid Management, as well as serving in the elected position of Register of Deeds.

This commission sets the electronic recording standard for the State of Michigan. Denby feels that this is an important time to be involved with the commission with new laws being enacted in 2019 regarding electronic notaries as well as remote notaries.

In 2019 Denby will also be serving as Third Vice President and Legislative Co-Chair to the Michigan Association of Register of Deeds.

“It is an honor to be appointed by Gov. Synder and I look forward to representing my fellow registrars on the commission,” Denby said.
