Cinderella’s Closet ready for prom season

Cinderella’s Closet, a prom boutique for high school girls, will run through the month of March this season.

Sponsored by LACASA Center and hosted by Snedicor’s Cleaners of Brighton and the LACASA Collection of Howell, this eco-friendly shopping experience offers students a chance to buy prom dresses at vintage prices while helping charity. All gowns and party dresses are just $25 and proceeds go to LACASA.

LACASA is a local nonprofit organization that provides help and hope for victims of abuse. Cinderella’s Closet raises awareness among teen shoppers about self-esteem, self-respect and positive relationships.

The first two weekends of shopping start at Snedicor’s Green Earth Cleaners. Following that event, the LACASA Collection will host a “Curtain Call” boutique, offering students an additional shopping opportunity. A 20 percent off discount coupon on prom accessories is being offered by the Collection for all Cinderella’s Closet shoppers March 19-28.

Dress scholarships are available, and shoppers may discreetly ask the attendant at the cashier counter for scholarship information. The Closet is reserved for students only, and they will be asked to present school IDs at check out.

Snedicor’s Cleaners is located at 8688 W. Grand River Ave. in Brighton. The LACASA Collection is in the Kroger/Crossroads Town Center, 120 W. Highland Ave., near downtown Howell.

Dates for the two-weekend Snedicor’s event are March 5, 6, and 7 and March 12, 13, and 14, 2020. Hours are 3-8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

Dates for the LACASA Collection shopping event are March 19-28, 2020.  Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Funds raised from the boutique stay local and provide help and hope for vulnerable children and adults from Livingston County who are victims of interpersonal violence. Learn more at lacasacenter.org or lacasacollection.org.
