Cinderella’s Closet boutique has new location

Cinderella’s Closet, a homecoming boutique for high school students, will have a new location this season, as well as a re-imagined experience for student shoppers.

Traditionally held at Snedicor’s Green Earth Cleaners in Brighton, Cinderella’s Closet is relocating to LACASA Center’s resale store, the LACASA Collection in Howell.

Students will have the same opportunity to browse hundreds of gowns while also taking advantage of discounts on formal-wear accessories like jewelry, handbags and shoes.

Sponsored by LACASA Center, this eco-friendly shopping experience offers students a chance to buy prom dresses at vintage prices while helping charity. All gowns and party dresses are just $25 and proceeds go to LACASA.

LACASA is a local nonprofit organization that provides help and hope for victims of abuse. Cinderella’s Closet raises awareness among teen shoppers about self-esteem, self-respect and positive relationships.

The homecoming boutique will run Aug. 19-28 during store hours, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A special “Love Yourself Empowerment Weekend” will take place Friday, Aug. 27, and Saturday, Aug. 28. This student-focused weekend will have exclusive offers and experiences for teen shoppers.

Dress scholarships are available, and shoppers may discreetly ask the attendant at the cashier counter for scholarship information. The Closet is reserved for students only, and they will be asked to present school IDs at check out.

The LACASA Collection is located in the Kroger/Crossroads Town Center, 120 W. Highland Ave., near downtown Howell.

Funds raised from the boutique stay local and provide education to area students about interpersonal violence and healthy relationships. Learn more at or

While Snedicor’s Green Earth Cleaners will no longer host the event, the company continues its support of Cinderella’s Closet by picking up dress donations and cleaning the donated dresses at no charge. Community members interested in donating gently-loved party dresses and gowns can schedule a pick up online at or can call Snedicor’s at 517-546-1020.
