Campaign finance: Junge has $520,000 cash on hand; Detmer has $8,954

Paul Junge has a huge fundraising advantage over his three opponents in the 8th Congressional District Republican primary, according to Federal Election Commission quarterly campaign finance reports filed last week. Most of Junge’s money came from his own bank account.

The latest report covers April through June.

Junge, a former prosecutor and TV news anchor, reported that he raised $66,813 in the quarter, and has $520,116 cash on hand. All told, he’s given $528,200 to his own campaign.

Mike Detmer, an auto salesman from Howell, is far behind, having raised $14,852 in the quarter. He has $8,954 cash on hand.

Alan Hoover, a Marine veteran from Ortonville, raised $5,924 in the quarter and has $7,082 cash on hand.

Kristina Lyke, an attorney from Fowlerville, does not show up in the database as having filed her quarterly report.

All of the Republicans are far behind the incumbent they’re hoping to unseat. Rep. Elissa Slotkin, D-Holly, has proven herself to be one of the best Congressional fundraisers in the country. She raised more than $1 million in the quarter and has more than $4.8 million cash on hand.

  1. Detmer is running his campaign like he is purposefully trying to lose to Paul Junge. He needs to get real in these last weeks before primary voting if he wants any hope of winning

  2. yes another stinking Carpetbagger like Slotkin trying to buy the seat.

    No thanks California Paul

  3. Well, we know Detmer isn’t spending any of his campaign funds on Biggby coffee.
