Which municipality in Livingston County saw the most reported car-deer crashes in 2016? It was Brighton Township, with 71. That’s according to a story on MLive.com, which looked at statistics statewide.

The story includes a searchable database that will tell you the number of car-deer collisions in every city, township and village in the state.

All told, there were 621 reported car-deer crashes in Livingston County last year. Statewide, there were more than 45,000 collisions, with more than 1,200 people injured and 14 fatalities.

Brighton Township is one of the most populous and well-traveled municipalities in the county, so it’s not surprising that it saw the most car-deer crashes. Two other populous townships ranked No. 2 and No. 3 on the list – Hartland Township, with 60 crashes, and Genoa Township, with 50. Handy Township came in fourth, with 49 crashes.
