Brighton High School production of “Guys and Dolls” opens March 10

In “Guys and Dolls” — a story of luck and love — Nathan Detroit (Carson Bond) is planning his next illegal craps game, is having trouble finding a safe location for it, and lacks the money to pay for one. To raise the money, Nathan bets Sky Masterson (Verick Von Buskirk) that Sky cannot get “Save-A-Soul” missionary Sarah Brown (Sophia Dreamer-Acevedo) to travel to Havana on a date with him. Meanwhile, Nathan tries to keep his longtime finance’ Miss Adelaide (Emily Wilson) at bay as she pushes for her trip to the altar.

The musical features many well-known Broadway tunes such as “Luck Be a Lady,” “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat” and “Marry the Man Today.”

“Guys and Dolls” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 10; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 11; 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 12; 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 17; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18; and 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts, 7878 Brighton Road.

Tickets are $17 for students, $22 for adults, and $55 for the Red Carpet Gala on March 11 that includes priority seating, a behind-the-scenes tour, an afterglow with live music, and photo ops with cast members. Tickets are available at www.brightonmusical.com.

Until opening night, The Livingston Post will be featuring some of the cast members.
