Brighton District Library hosting local authors’ showcase

The Brighton District Library is hosting a Local Author Showcase to bring authors and readers together in an interactive program. Eleven local authors will have their work on display and available for purchasing and signing. The Library strives to help authors make connections with each other as well as with the greater community of Southeast Michigan by hosting this showcase bianually.

The showcase includes six adult fiction titles: “A Stormy Travel Thru Time,” by Mandy Jo; “Bianchi,” by Natasha Hughes Smith; “Fighting Through Love and War,” by T.G. Richards; “Brown Paper Suga: Round 3,” by Cheraee C.; “Finding Lilacs,” by Cynthia Birk; and “The Chicago Pool Tournament,” by Michael Beardslee. One adult non-fiction title will be on display and available for signing as well: “Healing with Copper,” by Yvelette Stines.

Two young adult book titles will be featured at the event: TL Shively’s newest fiction book, “Spider’s Return,” and K. Bethany’s non-fiction book, “Elementary, My Dear.”

Local authors Melody Joy Cary and A. Kidd will showcase their picture books. Attendees can pick up Melody Joy Cary’s “Harmony’s Hiccups,” and A. Kidd’s “Yasuko and the Dream Eater.”

There is a book title for everyone at the Library’s Local Author Showcase this June! Stop by between 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, to see each author’s table of books and other goodies.
The Brighton District Library is located at 100 Library Drive, Brighton. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Brighton District Library.
